DHAKA, June 28, 2025 (BSS) - The day-long 2nd Bangladesh University Squash Carnival 2025 will be held on Friday (July 4) at the Dhaka Club/Army Officers' Mess, featuring 50 squash players (41 boys and 9 girls) from 12 universities, said a press release.

The participating universities are: Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, Chattogram University, BUP, MIST, BUET, IUB, Comilla Medical College, AIUB, Easton University, LUB, and UIU.

Organized by the Bangladesh University Squash Association, under the patronage of Max Hospital and the Bangladesh Squash Federation (BSF), the carnival is being regarded as a milestone for the country's sports sector-particularly for squash, a sport that has seen a sharp decline in popularity.

The introduction of squash in cadet colleges, universities, medical, and engineering institutions is expected to lead to the revival and expansion of the sport in Bangladesh.

BSF General Secretary Brigadier General (retd.) G.M. Quamrul Islam said university students are planning and implementing this competition on their own initiative, which reflects the promising future of squash in Bangladesh.

He added that the Bangladesh University Squash Association deserves appreciation for such an initiative and wished the 2nd Bangladesh University Squash Carnival 2025 every success.
