Bangladesh to take on Myanmar today

DHAKA, July 2, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh women's national football team will face hosts Myanmar in their crucial second Group C match of the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers scheduled to be held at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon today (Wednesday).

The match will kick off at 3:30 pm Bangladesh time.

After an emphatic 7-0 win over higher-ranked Bahrain in their opening group match on Sunday, the girls in red and green appear confident and are eager to maintain their winning momentum in today's encounter.

Over the past few years, Bangladesh have undoubtedly emerged as a much-improved side in the SAFF region. With several talented players performing at a high level, the team is gradually reaching new heights.

Myanmar also began their qualifying campaign in dominating fashion, crushing Turkmenistan 8-0. The hosts are considered clear favourites to win the group. However, it will not be an easy challenge for Myanmar, as they face a spirited Bangladesh side full of energy and skill.

Bangladesh will play their final group match against Turkmenistan on July 5.
