DHAKA, Oct 28, 2025 (BSS) - Rangpur escaped a defeat in their first round of
National Cricket League (NCL) against Dhaka Division despite a poor batting
show at Syhet Cricket Academy today.

Rangpur were reduced to 115-6 at stumps on the final day, while chasing a
target of 197, preventing them from a possible defeat.

Ripon Mondol and Taibur Rahman took two wickets apiece to keep Dhaka
favourites to win the game but they had not enough time at hands to go for
the ultimate kill.

Resuming the Day 4 at 212-2, Dhaka failed to pace the innings in a bid to
give their bowlers enough time to bowl out Rangpur.

They were eventually all out for 333 with Jishan Alam missing out the century
being out for 97. His overnight partner Ashiqur Rahman Shibli made 51.

Earlier in the first innings, Dhaka were bowled out for 221 and conceded 137-
run lead when Rangpur managed to put up 358 before being all out.
However, despite a good effort in the second innings, Dhaka finally had to be
left satisfied with a draw.
