Neer, Sajid take joint lead

DHAKA, Jan 9, 2026 (BSS)-International Master Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh Navy FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid of Titas Club are jointly leads in the points table with 5.5 points after the sixth round of BCF Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament held at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room today (Friday).

Eight players shared the second position closely with five points.

They are International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Bangladesh Ansar, International Master Abu Sufian Shakil of Bangladesh Police Chess Club, International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy, FIDE Master Subrota Biswas of Dhaka University, Candidate Master Sohel Chowdhury of Manha's Castle, Candidate Master Md Abu Hanif of Sadharan Biman Corporation Sporting Club, Candidate Master Mahtabuddin Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy and Zoar Haque Prodhan of Khelaghor Daba Sangah.

In the day's sixth round matches, IM Manon Reja Neer defeated IM Abu Sufian Shakil, FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid beat FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia, IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman drew with IM Md. Minhaz Uddin, FM Subrota Biswas split point with FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahma, WFM Warsia Khusbu drew with FM Mohammad Javed, CM Md Abu Hanid defeated Md Moniruzzaman Masud, CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed defeated Mahfuzur Rahman Shahin, CM Zoar Haque Prodhan defeated Md. Sohel, M. M. Zahirul Islam outplayed FM Khandaker Aminul Islam, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed beat Faisal Hossain, FM Nayem Haque defeated Aninda Rrick Digbijoy, CM Sohel Chowdhury beat Abdul Momin, CM Sajidul Haque defeated WIM Rani Hamid, Tashriq Saihan Shan defeated Md. Rabiul Hossain, Muhtady Tajwar Nasheed beat Tanvir Alam, WFM Noshin Anjum defeated Abrar Rezaul Ahnaf Mohammad, Mohammad Shakil defeated Md.
