DHAKA, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Women's team confirmed the Super Six phase of the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers after crushing Namibia by 80 runs at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur in Nepal today.
The victory was their third on the trot, having defeated USA by 21 runs and Papua New Guinea by 30 runs in the first two matches.
Sanjida Akter Meghla was the instrumental in the big margin victory, claiming 4-14 in four overs, which saw Namibia bowled out for just 64 in 17.5 overs after Bangladesh posted 144-7.
Rabyea Khan and Fahima Khatun grabbed three wickets apiece to complement Meghla in her effort to thrash Namibia.
Only two Namibian batters reached double digits with captain and opener Sune Wittmann top-scoring with 19 while Merczerly Gorases making 12.
No Bangladesh batter, however, could reach even a fifty but small contribution from all helped them put up a challenging total.
Sobhana Mostary was the top-scorer for the side with 27 while Shorna Akter added 23. Opener Dilara Akter chipped-in-with 25.
Bangladesh will take on Ireland in their last group match on Saturday.
The top three teams from Group A will advance to the Super Six stage, where they will face the top three sides from Group B.
The Group B included hosts Nepal, Thailand, Zimbabwe, Netherlands and Scotland.
The top four teams from the Super Six will qualify for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup to be held in England and Wales in June-July this year.
