DHAKA, March 13, 2026 (BSS)-Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the
toss and sent Pakistan into bat first in the second ODI at Sher-e-Bangla
National Cricket Stadium today.

The hosts came into the ground with an aim to wrap up the three-match series
with a game to spare, following their crushing eight-wicket victory in the
first ODI.

Pace sensation Nahid Rana claimed a 5-24 to bowl out Pakistan for just 114, a
total which Bangladesh gunned down in emphatic fashion, leaving 209 balls
unused.

Bangladesh, however, are unchanged from the squad of the first ODI while
Pakistan, aiming to keep the series alive, brought in pacer Haris Rouf,
replacing spinner Abrar Ahmed.

"We love to bowl first. We are looking to pick wickets in the first 10 overs.
It is not easy, it has been challenging," Mehidy Hasan Miraz said after the
toss.

"We did very well in the last match but we have to focus on batting and
bowling, we have to take responsibility as a batting unit. The wicket looks
good, we don't mind the grass. Tanzid Tamim was excellent in the last match
and it is a great opportunity for the batters. If you bowl well then it is
easy for any captain."

Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi is optimistic to win the match in a bid
to stay alive in the series despite losing the toss.

"It is a good wicket, looks green, hard wicket. They (the batters) know their
mistake, they come harder and play their own shots on this track, I fully
believe in them," Shaheen said.

"Anyone can play the (anchor) role in the present time, but I believe we
started well in the last game and hopefully we play well in the middle overs
and get to a big total."
