DHAKA, April 5, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) retained Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz as the captains for T20 and ODI format respectively.

The decision was taken during the fourth meeting of the Board of Directors today.

The duo was retained, aiming to build a stable team until the T20 and ODI World Cup.

The Board has confirmed leadership role across formats. Litton Kumar Das will continue as captain of Bangladesh T20 International team with Saif Hassan serving as vice-captain, through to the ICC T20 World Cup in 2028, said BCB director and Cricket Operations Committee chairman Najmul Abedin Fahim after the meeting.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will remain captain of the Bangladesh One Day International (ODI) team until the ICC ODI World Cup in South Africa in 2027. Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue as vice-captain.

The BCB has also decided to form a committee to establish a framework for implementing a pension scheme for players and match officials who have served Bangladesh cricket.

The meeting approved the proposed BCB Human Resources policy, aimed at enhancing organizational efficiency, transparency, and professional standards for all staff members.

Two key digital initiatives- BCB Player Data App and BCB Cloud Server App- were officially launched during the meeting.

The BCB Player Data App is designed to provide comprehensive statistical data on all active domestic cricketers for relevant personnel.

The BCB Cloud Server App will enable coaches, analysts and selectors to access video footage and analytical content on domestic players.

In addition, the board has decided to reintroduce the BCB Annual Awards Programme to recognise outstanding performance and contribution within Bangladesh cricket including cricket journalism.
In a move to support the growth and professionalism of sports media, the BCB will introduce a scholarship programme for sports journalists.
