Bangladesh hold Afghanistan to goalless draw

DHAKA, June 5, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Olympic football team forced Afghanistan to a goalless draw in their second match of the four-nation Diamond Jubilee Football Tournament on Thursday night at the National Stadium in Male, Maldives.

With this outcome, Bangladesh secured two points from two matches.

Earlier, Bangladesh played out a goalless draw with Pakistan, while Afghanistan edged past hosts Maldives by a solitary goal in their respective opening matches of the tournament.

Bangladesh will play their final group-stage match against hosts Maldives on June 7 at the same venue.

If Bangladesh are able to win their last match against Maldives, they will have a chance to qualify for the final.

The top two teams at the end of the group stage will advance to the final on June 10.
