The day's programme began at 7 am with a rally from the Bangladesh Army Stadium.

considerable attention, while athletes from the Bangladesh Karate Federation, Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation and Bangladesh Wushu Federation staged
impressive demonstration events.

General Waker-Uz-Zaman emphasized the importance of promoting the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect throughout society and called
upon people to adopt healthy and active lifestyles through regular exercise and sports.

construction of the Bangladesh Olympic Complex at Trishal to help build world-class sports infrastructure.

He said sports play an indispensable role in building a healthy, disciplined and drug-free society, adding that greater participation in sports is
essential to keeping young people away from drugs and other social problems while fostering patriotism, discipline and moral values.
