DHAKA, July 27, 2026 (BSS)- Bangladesh leg-spinning all-rounder Aminul Islam Biplob said he will leave no stone unturned to establish himself as a genuine all-rounder after earning a place in the Bangladesh Emerging squad for the ensuing tri-nation series in South Africa.

Biplob, who has been out of the national side since playing his last T20 International in 2021, sees the tournament as an opportunity to showcase his progress and contribute with both bat and ball.

"I have said before that I want to develop myself as a good all-rounder. I am working towards that goal every day," Biplob told the reporters before the team's departure today.

"If the opportunity comes, I will try to contribute to the team in both the batting and bowling departments."

The 25-year-old returned to the selectors' radar following an impressive Dhaka Premier League (DPL) campaign for Abahani Limited. He scored 246 runs in 11 matches and claimed 18 wickets, including one five-wicket haul and two four-wicket hauls.

The performances earned him a place in the Bangladesh Emerging squad after a lengthy spell outside the plans of both the senior national team and the emerging side.

Biplob admitted staying out of the national setup was a tough pill to swallow.

"Being out of the team is always difficult, it is not something anyone enjoys. I was away from the national team for a long time, and it was a very tough period. But I always tried to keep myself ready and trusted the process," he said.

Despite renewed attention following his domestic performances, Biplob said he is not looking too far ahead and is instead focused on making an impact in South Africa.

"I am not thinking that far ahead. Right now, my focus is on this Emerging Series and how I can help the team perform well. Every tournament ahead is important for me, and performing consistently is my priority," he added.

The tri-series will also feature the South Africa Emerging team, and the USSA team apart from Bangladesh Emerging team.

The tournament will begin on July 30, with South Africa Emerging taking on the USSA team. Bangladesh will open its campaign on August 1 against South Africa Emerging in Pretoria.

In the double round-robin format, each team will play the other two teams twice, with the top two sides advancing to the final, scheduled for August 12 at Tuks Oval in Pretoria.

Following the tri-series one-day tournament, Bangladesh Emerging will play two four-day matches against South Africa Emerging side.
