Bangladesh A suffer innings defeat to SA- A in 1st unofficial Test

DHAKA, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - A sensational batting collapse led Bangladesh to a 
humiliating innings and 413-run defeat to South Africa (SA) in the first 
unofficial Test in Pretoria today. 

Put into bat first, Bangladesh were bowled out for just 122 in their first 
innings before South Africa declared with mammoth 647-6.

The second string Bangladesh side, which included several national players 
collapsed to 112 in the second innings in just 32.2 overs on Day 3 of the 
game, handing the hosts a huge victory.

South Africa rode on captain Marques Ackerman and Sinethemba Qeshile's double 
century to compile a big total. Ackerman hammered 237 ball-256, an innings 
laced with 24 fours and seven sixes while Qeshile was not out on exact 200.

Anamul Haque was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh with 3-98.

For Bangladesh, no batters could hit even a half-century in any of the 
innings. Opener Naim Sheikh made 30 in the second innings, which is the 
highest individual score for a Bangladeshi batter in this match.
