20,000 Bhola farmers get agri incentive for Aush cultivation

BHOLA, April 3, 2024 (BSS) - A total of 20,000 small and marginal farmers in Charfashion upazila of the district were given seeds and fertilizers as agricultural incentives under the incentive programme free of cost for Aush paddy cultivation in the current Kharif-1 season.

To increase the interest of farmers in Aush paddy cultivation, the amount of incentive support and the number of farmers have increased significantly in the district, officials of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) said.

Member of Parliament of Bhola-4 constituency Abdullah Al Islam Jakob inaugurated the distribution function and handed over the seeds and fertilizers to some farmers as the chief guest on Upazila Parishad premise this afternoon with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Noreen Haque in the chair.

Chairman of Upazila Parishad Zainal Abedin Akhan, Mayor of Charfashion Municipality Md Morshed, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Nurul Islam VP, Upazila Parishad Vice- Chairman Sadek Mia, Upazila Agriculture Officer Roknuzzaman, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Sources said, five kgs of Aush paddy seeds, 10 kgs of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer and 10 kgs of Muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizer were given to each farmer free of cost for Aush paddy cultivating on one bigha of land among 20,000 farmers of the district.
