2,130 Bogura farmers get incentive for Aush cultivation

BOGURA, April 23, 2024 (BSS) - A total of 2,130 small and marginal farmers in Nandigram upazila of the district were given seeds and fertilizers free of cost as agricultural incentive under the incentive and rehabilitation programme for the cultivation of Ufshi Aush in the current Kharif-1 season.
 
To increase the interest of farmers in Ufshi Aush cultivation, the amount of incentive support has been increased significantly in the district, Upazila Agriculture Officer Gaziul Haque said.
 
A.K.M Rezaul Karim Tansen, Member of Parliament of Bogura-4 constituency, handed over the incentives among the farmers as the chief guest at a function held at Nandigram Upazila Parishad auditorium this morning with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Humayun Kabir in the chair.
 
Upazila Awami League President Anwar Hossain Rana, Upazila Parishad Chairman Rezaul Ashraf Jinnah, Upazila Agriculture Officer Gaziul Haque, Upazila Animal Resources Officer Kalpana Rani Roy, Upazila Women Vice-Chairman Srabani Akhtar Banu, Officer In-Charge(OC) of Nandigram Police Station Alamgir Hossain, among other, were present.
 
DAE official said that each farmer was given five kg of Ufshi Aush seeds, 10 kg of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer and five kg of Muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizer free of cost for cultivating Ufshi Aush on one bigha of land.
