10,260 farmers to get agri-incentives in C'nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Sept 12, 2024 (BSS) - A total of 10,260 small and marginal farmers would get seeds and fertilizer free of cost for cultivating onion and black gram (Mashkalai) in the district.
 
Of them, 3,000 farmers would get onion seeds and fertilizer and 7,260 farmers would get black gram seeds and fertilizer.

Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources said each farmer will get one kg of seed, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer for cultivating onion on one bigha of land.
 
On the other hand, for the cultivation of black gram on one bigha of land, each farmer will get five kg of seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and five kg of MOP fertilizer.
 
The incentives will be given for increasing cultivation and production of onion and black gram in the current Kharif-2 season, a DAE official said.

The seeds and fertilizers will be distributed very soon under the concerned Upazila Agriculture Office, DAE official added.
