Thakurgaon, April 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Partner Field School initiative is being actively implemented at the Upazila Agriculture Office in Thakurgaon Sadar, aiming to enhance agricultural services, encourage innovation and support the certification of fruit and vegetable crops for better commercialization.

Various principles of good agricultural practices are taught in this school, established in the farmer's yard.

Set up in the yards of local farmers, the school imparts training on the principles of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).

On Friday, a comprehensive programme was held at Shasla-Piala in Auliapur, Sadar Upazila, under the initiative of the Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila Agriculture Extension Department.

The event featured field training, classroom sessions and awareness plays performed in regional languages by participating farmers to emphasize various GAP techniques.

According to the Agriculture Department, farmers are implementing 246 prescribed practices organized under five key modules on their individual plots. These practices are expected to significantly improve both the quality and marketability of agricultural produce.

The event was attended by Thakurgaon District Agriculture Extension Department's Additional Deputy Director Md. Alauddin Sheikh, Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Nasirul Alam, Agriculture Extension Officer Mashiur Rahman, Deputy Assistant Tree Conservation Officer Abdul Khalek and other field-level officials.

Speaking at the event, the officials expressed optimism that successful implementation of the program will enhance food security, ensure farmer safety, and enable the production of export-quality crops suitable for developed markets.

25 farmers participated in the Krishani program, sharing their enthusiasm for adopting GAP techniques. They expressed hope that these techniques would not only enhance their individual crop yields and incomes but also play a role in advancing the nation's agricultural development.

The success and impact of the Partner Field School are beginning to resonate throughout the area, with a growing number of farmers showing interest in adopting good agricultural practices.
