Aman cultivation going on in full swing in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Aug 4, 2025 (BSS) - Aman paddy cultivation is progressing in full swing across all seven upazilas of the district, officials of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) said.

The DAE has set a target to bring 13,200 hectares of land under Aman cultivation with a production target of 50,424 metric tons of clean rice during the current season.

To boost Aman production, the government earlier distributed seed, fertilizer and other agri-inputs as incentives among small and marginal farmers in the district.

Deputy Director of the DAE Dr. Robiah Noor Ahmed said the soil in the district is highly suitable for Aman cultivation and farmers are showing keen interest in cultivating the crop on their lands.
