DHAKA, Oct 10, 2025 (BSS) – Police arrested a member of a robber gang with a pistol while he was preparing for a robbery at Gowripur in Ashulia last night.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ashulia Model Police Station Abdul Hannan said police arrested Mirza Rubel alias Sumon, 45, with a pistol during the drive.

“A team of Ashulia Thana conducted an operation and arrested Rubel while he was preparing to commit a robbery in front of Natural Nursery on Sadarpur Road in Ashulia’s Gouripur area,” the OC said.

The OC said Rubel, hailing from Tangail district, had long been involved in robbery.
