KHULNA, Nov 28, 2025 (BSS) – Police have arrested Shamim Ahmed, a suspect in the recent triple murder in Khulna’s Labonchora area, while he was attempting to flee to France.

He was detained by Airport Police at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 3:30 am on Thursday. Later, he was handed over to Labonchora Police Station in Khulna this morning.

Shamim, 40, is the son of Rustum Sheikh, a resident of Khan Mohammadpur village under Rupsha upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Labonchora Police Station, Howladar Sanwar Hossain Masum, said Shamim had a land dispute with Shefar Ahmed and his wife Ruby.

On November 16, police recovered the bodies of Shefar Ahmed’s two children and mother-in-law from a poultry shed beside their house in Labonchora.

Following the murders, Shefar had expressed suspicion about Shamim’s involvement in the triple murder.

A murder case was filed over the incident with Labonchora Police Station the next day.
