BD remittance fair in NY begins April 19

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2025 (BSS) - Two-day fourth Bangladesh Remittance Fair-2025 will begin at Jackson Heights in New York on April 19 with a view to increase flow of remittance from the United States. 

Bangladesh-USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry (USBCCI) and USA-Bangladesh Business Link will jointly organize the fair with the theme, “Legal Remittance, Better Bangladesh.”      

Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur will inaugurate the fair. 

The main target of the fair is to find out ways to increase flow of remittance by encouraging Bangladeshi diaspora to send remittance through legal channels.

Different public and private organizations including banks, app developers, money exchange agencies and various channel partners will take part in the fair. 

The organization will showcase their goods and services alongside holding seminars, symposiums, question-answer sessions and networking dinners.   

A special book with the write ups of economists, academics and bankers on remittance fair and offshore banking will be published on the occasion.
   
New York Financial Service Department and main money exchange companies will take part in the networking session. The latest inventions in communication and remittance sectors will be exhibited. 

In the remittance fair of 2024 edition, Islami Bank, National Bank and Bank Asia got the award for channeling the highest remittance in the fair. 

Apart from this, BA Express, Sunman Global Express and Standard Globe Express received the award as the highest remittance partner channel.
