Govt approves proposal for signing MSPA for procuring LNG

DHAKA, Feb 20, 2025 (BSS) - The government today approved a proposal in principle for signing Master Sale and Purchase Agreement (MSPA) between Petrobangla and the short-listed firms to procure LNG from the spot market.

The agreement for procuring LNG will be signed under the 'Public Procurement Act, 2006' and the 'Public Procurement Rules, 2008'.

The approval came from the 7th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs in this year held at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

The meeting also approved a proposal in principle for further amending the Public Procurement Act, 2006 (PPA 2006) after the Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) placed it in the meeting.

Advisers concerned attended the meeting while secretaries concerned were present.
