BERC reduces LPG prices for Oct

DHAKA, Oct 7, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today reduced LPG prices for November in line with new price adjustments by Saudi Arabia-based Aramco that sets the contract price or CP for the liquidated natural gas at the beginning of each month for term contracts.

BERC chairman Jalal Ahmed announced the step saying the prices of all the 13 different sizes of LPG-filled cylinders were reduced in line with the ARAMCO fixed international price for the current month.

The 12 kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas or LPG cylinders, the mostly used size at household levels, would be sold under the price adjustment at retailer level its price was reduced by Taka 29 – from Tk 1,270 to Tk.1,241.

The new pricing came into effect from 6 PM on Tuesday.

“All LPG marketing companies are to implement the new price from 6 PM today,” the BERC chairman told a media briefing.

The adjustment came Aramco slashed the official selling prices for propane and butane, the primary LPG ingredients, for the second consecutive month.

The BERC chairman said that the new prices are set at US$495 per tonne for propane and $475 per tonne for butane.

According to the BERC LPG cylinders of 5.5 kg has been fixed at Tk.579, 12.5 kg at Tk.1,293, 15 kg at Tk.1,551, 16 kg at Tk.1,654, 18 kg at Tk.1861, 20 kg at Tk.2,068, 22 kg at Tk.2,275, 25 kg at Tk.2,585, 30 kg at Tk.3,102, 33 kg at Tk.3,412, 35 kg at Tk.3,619 and 45 kg at Tk.4,653.

BERC said under the re-fixed price, per kilogram LPG would now cost Tk 99.65 in private sector.
