Rajshahi observes progms on violence against women and children

RAJSHAHI, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS)- Integrated efforts of all government and non-government organisations are crucial for eliminating violence against women.

Forging social resistance and movement are also necessary to end violence against women and children, speakers at a rally yesterday said.

The rally was arranged by the District Administration and Department of Women Affairs in observance of the 'Prevention of Repression and Violence against Women and Children Fortnight-2025 at the collectorate office premises yesterday.
 
The theme of this year's day was “Unite to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls”.

Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Afia Akhter and Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs Shabnom Shirin, among others, addressed the meeting.
 
Speakers said everybody should raise voice and work together to address the social problem as the government or any single organisation cannot bring any positive change of the issue.

Afia Akhter called for strengthening legal assistance and effective enforcement of laws regarding women repression to eliminate the violence against women.

She emphasised on creating a congenial atmosphere for women in all spheres to allow them to enjoy equal rights.
