DHAKA, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS)- A fire that broke out at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) at Shahbagh today.
The fire was brought under control within minutes of origin, Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) media officer Anwarul Islam told BSS from the scene.
He said the fire was originated at around 11.14 am from ceiling of the corridor adjacent to dental faculty classroom on 4th floor of Block-A. Seven fire engines doused the blaze at around 11:32 am.
Quick response of the fire fighters ensured preventing the blaze spreading further within the facility, Islam said.
He said there was no report of any casualties or damage. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
