BNP withdraws expulsion orders of six more leaders

DHAKA, Nov 25, 2025 (BSS) - BNP has withdrawn expulsion orders issued earlier against six of its leaders.

According to a press release issued BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the party had previously expelled Cumilla South District BNP's former joint general secretary Engineer Md Shofiul Azam Moishan Ripon, former district committee member Tahmina Haque Poppy, Sylhet's Companiganj Upazila BNP's former office secretary Advocate Abdullah Al Helal, Jessore's Keshabpur Municipality BNP's former joint convener Afzal Hossain Babu and Munshiganj's Sirajdikhan Upazila BNP leader Afaz Uddin Bhuiyan for anti-organisational activities.

The statement said the party withdrew the expulsion orders after the individuals submitted appeals seeking reconsideration and the matters were reviewed in line with organisational procedures.

The release further said that BNP had also suspended the primary membership and all organisational posts of Akhtar Hossain, former convener of Maheshkhali Municipality BNP in Cox's Bazar, on August 13 for alleged violations of party discipline and activities inconsistent with party principles. 

The suspension order has also been withdrawn following his appeal, it added.
