DSE turnover reaches TK 7.90 billion after 8-month

DHAKA, July 17, 2025 (BSS) -Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) turnover today reached Tk 7.90 billion, marking a 7.53 per cent increase from the previous session and the highest single-day figure in more than eight months.
 
The last time turnover surpassed this level was in November 2024, when it stood at Tk 8.4 billion.
 
DSEX, benchmark index of the prime bourse, advanced by 15.58 points to close at 5,132.48. 
DS30 Index, which tracks blue-chip stocks, gained 15.90 points to end at 1,936.66.
 
DSES Index, reflecting Shariah-compliant stocks, rose by 7.74 points to 1,119.80.
 
Of the 396 issues traded on the DSE, 153 advanced, 180 declined, and 63 remained unchanged.
 
BRAC Bank topped the turnover chart followed by Sea Pearl Beach Resort & Spa Limited, Taufika Foods and Lovello Ice-cream PLC, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, and Grameenphone Ltd.
 
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended the day on a positive note. The All Share Price Index (CASPI) added 132.17 points to settle at 14,329.57, while the Selective Categories Index (CSCX) gained 84 points to close at 8,745.
 
Turnover on the port city bourse stood at Tk 67.19 million, with 3.77 million shares and mutual fund units traded.
