Newly elected RpCCI executive committee takes oath

RANGPUR, July 23, 2025 (BSS) - The inauguration and oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Board of Directors of the Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RpCCI) for the 2025-2027 tenure was held at the RpCCI Auditorium in the city today.

Chairman of the RpCCI Election Board and Senior Vice-president and Manager of the Rangpur Branch of National Bank Limited Md Sarwar Morshed administered the oath to the 25-member executive committee.

With outgoing RpCCI President Md Akbar Ali in the chair, Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam attended the event as the chief guest.

Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Majid Ali, Rangpur Metropolitan BNP Convener Md Shamsuzzaman Samu, and Rangpur District BNP Member-Secretary Anisur Rahman Laku were present as special guests.

Newly elected RpCCI President Emdadul Hossain Emdad, Senior Vice-president Monjur Ahmed Azad, and Vice-presidents Enamul Haque and Md Zulfiqar Aziz Khan took the oath for the 2025-2027 term.

The newly elected Directors who took oath include: Partha Bose, Md Obaidur Rahman Ratan, Khandaker Mahmud Elahi (Biplob), Md Kamal Hossain, Md Mamunur Rashid, Md Touhid Hossain, Md Saiful Alam, Ashraful Alam, Alhaj Md Abdul Halim, Md Azizul Haque, Md Shariful Islam, Md Harun-or-Rashid, Md Taifur Rahman, Md Shafiqul Islam Mithu, Pranoy Banik, Khemchand Somani (Robi), Md Shafiqul Islam Mona, Md Rashidus Sultan Bablu, Md Abdullahel Kafi (Dudu), Golam Ahmed Abdul Mukit, and Md Wasim Bari Raj.

Immediately after the oath-taking, outgoing President Md Akbar Ali formally handed over responsibilities to the new president Emdadul Hossain Emdad.

Later, various business associations greeted the newly elected Board of Directors with floral bouquets and crests of honor.

The event was attended by officials, members of the RpCCI Election and Appeal Boards, both new and outgoing Directors, ordinary members of the chamber, bankers, business leaders, and journalists.

In his reaction to BSS, newly elected President Emdadul Hossain Emdad emphasized the need for accelerating industrialization in the Rangpur region to create employment by exploring untapped opportunities in the fields of economy, trade, and commerce.
