RAJSHAHI, July 31, 2025 (BSS) - Officials of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) have been urged to deliver sincere, honest, and corruption-free services to transform the bank into a profit-oriented institution and boost the region's agro-based economy.
The call came during the 2025 divisional conference for Zonal Managers and senior officials of Rajshahi division held on Wednesday at Brac Learning Centre.
General Manager Taj Uddin Ahmed chaired the session, addressed by Chairman Prof Muhammad Ali, Managing Director Wahida Begum, Deputy Managing Director Kazi Abdur Rahman, and General Manager Atiqul Islam.
Prof Ali stressed prioritizing credit for setting up value-added crop industries and supporting seed production entrepreneurs to tackle the seed crisis. He urged stronger efforts to ensure food self-reliance by accelerating credit flow to productive sectors.
Wahida Begum emphasized meeting business targets, ensuring quality banking and lending to increase agricultural output, and making credit programs need-based and timely. She called for expanding doorstep banking services for farmers.
The meeting included nine zonal managers, zonal and divisional audit officers, and deputy general managers, who discussed ways to enhance consumer service efficiency and support regional economic growth.
