International Conference on Business and Technology (ICBT) 2025 inaugurated

DHAKA, Sept 20, 2025 (BSS) - The School of Business at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP), the Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka (DU), and Germany's Weiden Business School and Institute of Psychological and Behavioral Sciences are jointly organizing the International Conference on Business and Technology (ICBT) 2025.

The two-day conference began today at the UAP campus and will conclude tomorrow (September 21) at the University of Dhaka. This year's theme is "The Interrelation of Business and Technology in Achieving Sustainable Development."

Around 250 participants from different countries are attending the conference, where over 100 research papers will be presented. Discussions will focus on how the integration of business and technology can address economic, environmental, and social challenges.

The programme also includes speeches by 10 distinguished keynote speakers from abroad, along with presentations, interactive sessions, and panel discussions, said a press release.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony at the UAP Auditorium, Planning Adviser Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud said such conferences create an important platform for academics, professionals, and policymakers, contributing significantly to the nation's sustainable development.

Special guests included Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson of UAP's Board of Trustees; Professor Dr Kamrul Ahsan, Vice-Chancellor of UAP; and Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) of DU.

Architect Mahbuba Haque highlighted UAP's commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement. Professor Dr Kamrul Ahsan remarked that the conference reflects UAP's vision for higher education and research. Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed stressed the importance of collaboration among universities.

The conference was co-chaired by Professor Dr M. A. Baki Khalili of UAP, Dr Christiane Hellbach of OTH Amberg-Weiden, and Professor Dr Mahmud Osman Imam of DU.

The keynote paper was presented by Professor Dr S. R. Osmani of Ulster University, UK, who provided insights on the integration of business, technology, and sustainable development.

At the end of the ceremony, crests were handed over to the distinguished guests. Sarwar Razzak Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Business Administration at UAP, delivered the vote of thanks.
