DHAKA, Nov 27  2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has advanced its digital transformation agenda by awarding FIX certification to nine brokerage houses and recertification to one firm.

This certification allows these firms to launch their own customized Order Management Systems (OMS) through API connectivity, said a press release.

The certifications were presented today at the DSE Boardroom by Mohammad Asadur Rahman, FCS, the institution’s Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director (Acting).

Highlighting the significance of the move, Asadur Rahman stated that the DSE is working toward the digital transformation of the capital market, aiming to convert the DSE into a customer-centric service organization while maintaining strict regulatory standards.

The initiative to launch API-based Brokerage House Order Management Systems (BHOMS) was initially adopted by the DSE starting in 2020.

In response, 72 brokerage houses submitted applications to the DSE seeking API connection to facilitate transactions using their own OMS via the NASDAQ Matching Engine.

With the addition of the recently certified firms, a total of 47 broker houses have now been granted FIX certification. Furthermore, 35 of these certified broker houses have successfully launched their proprietary OMS using API connectivity.

Recipients of the certification included representatives (MDs, CEOs, and Directors) from Bangladesh Finance Securities Limited, Fintra Securities Limited, IDLC Securities Ltd, IIDFC Securities Limited, MTB Securities Ltd, SAR Securities Limited, South Asia Securities Limited, Waifang Securities Limited and LankaBangla Securities PLC.

Dr. Md. Asifur Rahman, DSE’s Chief Technology Officer, addressed the unique demands of exchange technology, noting that unlike banking, a moment’s service can instantly impact the entire market.

He stressed the necessity of being cautious, focused and standard-compliant.

Dr Rahman asserted that the DSE's recent centralized system integration has placed its technology very close to Global Standard, and in some cases, even ahead.

He added that allowing local teams to develop OMS applications is not only a technological advancement but also an achievement for the country.

In the spirit of enhancing stakeholder engagement, the DSE has recently held meetings with key industry sectors, including BGMEA, Ceramic, and Agro-chemical.

Looking ahead, the DSE anticipates unveiling several new digital service initiatives by December 2025.

These planned initiatives include a modern website landing page,  an online document submission system for Trekhholders and development of compliance and data flow based on stakeholder feedback.
