Two fugitives arrested for attacking customs officials

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 11, 2025 (BSS) - A team from the Detective Branch of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) today arrested two fugitives accused in a case filed in connection with an attack on two customs officials.

The arrestees were identified as Kazi Md Emon Hossen, 23, and Md Sujan, 24. Police arrested them from the Sikderpara area of Bandarban district this morning, Assistant Commissioner (Media) of CMP Aminur Rashid confirmed. 

Earlier, Chattogram Customs House officials Md Asaduzzaman Khan and Badrul Arefin Bhuiyan were attacked on December 4 while passing through the CDA residential area.

The attackers, armed with sharp weapons, threatened to kill the customs officials and severely damaged the car they were using. However, they fled the scene when locals rushed to help. 

Following the incident, an attempted murder case was filed with Doublemooring Police Station against three identified individuals, including Emon and Sujan.
