Two arrested over attack on July Rebels member in Uttara

DHAKA, Dec 14, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested two individuals in connection with the attack on Mohammad Rezwan, a member of the July Rebels organization, in the capital's Uttara area.

According to police, the incident took place around 7:30 pm on Saturday in Uttara Sector-6, where a group of miscreants attacked Rezwan, leaving him injured.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he received necessary treatment.

Following the incident, police launched operations at different locations in the capital to identify and apprehend those involved in the attack.

As part of the ongoing drive, a team of Uttara Purba Police Station conducted an operation in the Dakshin Khan area early today at around 5:30 am and arrested two accused-Md Masum and Md Fahim Khan-who were named in the complaint.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrests.

Police said the investigation is underway and efforts are continuing to arrest other accused persons mentioned in the case.
