GAIBANDHA, MAY 28, 2024 (BSS) - Speakers in a function here urged the paralegals to stand by and help hard to reach char dwellers to settle legal
disputes peacefully.

They made the comments while addressing the concluding ceremony of a 3-day orientation for char community paralegals at the Friendship Training
Centre located at Madnerpara under Fulchhariupazila in the district this afternoon, with deputy director of Friendship Ahmed Toufiqur Rahman in the chair.
 
The objective of the training was to build up the capacity of the paralegals to address legal disputes, including land disputes and other legal matters,among the hard-to-reach Char dwellers of Gaibandha and Kurigram districts.

Barrister Ayesha Tahsin Khan, Senior Director of Inclusive Citizenship, addressed the function as the main focal person.
 
Senior Manager (Legal) of FRIENDSHIP, Md. Ashiquzzaman, Coordinator of the organization,  Md. Younus Ali, regional manager Nazmul Hossain, and assistant manager Md. Rezoanul Hoque addressed the function, among others.
 
The chief guest, in her speech, urged the paralegals to be more sincere and provide all sorts of cooperation regarding law-related issues to the char dwellers to settle their disputes peacefully in line with the existing laws.
 
Earlier, district and session judge Abul Mansoor Miah inaugurated the training on May 26. He then urged the paralegals to receive and utilise the knowledge
acquired from the training practically in a bid to help the criminals resolve law-related issues without any hassle.
 
As many as 40 paralegals coming from different parts of Gaibandha and Kurigram districts, as well as NGO activists and journalists, attended the function.
