KHULNA, June 5, 2024 (BSS) - Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and an engine-run van at Shawrankhali intersection under Paikgachha upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased were identified as van driver Ismail Gazi, son of late Anser Al Gazi of Sahapara village and motorcycle riders Riad Gazi, son of Abidur Rahman Gazi, resident of Batikhali village and Mahbub Gain, son of Harun Gain of Garaikhali village of the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Paikgachha Police Station Obaidur Rahman said the accident took place on the Paikgachha-Khulna road around 10am when the motorbike collided head-on with the van, leaving three people dead on the spot.

The bodies were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) morgue for postmortem, the OC said.
