NETRAKONA, June 6, 2024 (BSS) - Speakers at a discussion here
underlined the need for discouraging deforestation and creating
massive awareness among the mass people about its adverse impact
in order to protect the bio-diversity and ecological balance.

Netrakona district administration and department of environment,
Netrakona jointly organized the meeting at the conference room of
Deputy Commissioner’s office yesterday, marking the World
Environment Day-2024.

Chaired by assistant director of department of the environment,
Mohammad  Abu Sayeed, the meeting was addressed, among others,
by additional deputy commissioner (general) Mohammad
Rafiquzzaman, additional police super Lutfur Rahman and panel
mayor of Netrakona municipality SM Mohasin Alam.

Earlier, a colorful rally was brought out in the district town from
Netrakona DC office premises under the auspices of district
administration and department of environment.   

A large number of local people, including district-level officers, local
public representatives, students, teachers and farmers and NGO
workers joined the rally.
