KHULNA, June 6, 2024 (BSS) – A court here today
pronounced life-term imprisonment to a youth for killing
Khan Zahid Hasan, ex-chairman of Fakirhat Sadar Union of
Bagerghat, and his driver Munna on May 18, 2013.

The court also acquitted 11 others as charge against them
could not be proved.

Tasnim Zohora, additional district and session judge-3 of
Khulna, handed down the verdict in presence of the accused
Md Alamgir Hossain alias Bagha.

The judge also fined him Taka 20,000, in default, he will
suffer more two years rigorous imprisonment.

On May 18, 2013, criminals gunned down Zahid Hasan and
his car driver Munna in Kudir Battala area under Rupsha
upazila in Khulna on his way back to Fakirhat from the
Khulna city.

A case was filed against 12 people, including Bagha with
Rupsha Police Station.

Later, Rokonuzzaman, Inspector of Khulna detective branch
police, pressed charge sheet against 12 before Khulna
District and Session Judge Court.
