TANGAIL, Jan 4, 2025 (BSS) - A couple was crushed under the wheels of a train
near Dhalatong No-5 Bridge in Kalihati upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased were identified as Nilu Mandol, 60, and his wife Kalpona Rani
Mandol, 50, residents of the same area.

Station Master of Jamuna Bridge Purba Ibrahimabad Railway Station Sahin Miah
said the accident occurred in the area when a train hit the couple while they
were crossing the railway line.

"The duo died on the spot," he said, adding that the couple was returning
home from a religious programme at Rouha village of the upazila.
