Three motorcyclists killed in Gopalganj road accident

GOPALGANJ, Jan 17, 2025 (BSS) - Three motorcyclists were killed in a road
accident in Hirannyakandi area on the Dhaka-Khulna highway of Kashiani
upazila here this morning.

The deceased were motorcycle rider Hridoy Mrida, 18, son of Monir Mridha, and
other two co-riders Dipu Das, 18, son of Bishnu Das also a student of class
nine and Bishal Nag, 19, also a student of class eight.

"Of the deceased, two co-riders--Dipu Das and Bishal Nag-- died on the spot
when they were moving towards on a bike to the nearby Kalinagar area of
Boalmari upazila under Faridpur district for drinking dates Juice. Suddenly,
a running bus hit their motorcycle in front of Shampan Highway restaurant on
the Dhaka-Khulna highway around 6am," said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhanga
Highway Police Station M Rakibuzzaman.

The bus was not identified immediately after the accident due to dense fog,
he said.

Critically injured Hridoy Mridha was announced dead when local people rushed
him to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex.

Police trying to identify the bus and necessary legal action is underway, the
OC added.
