Energy division severs illegal gas lines in Savar

DHAKA, Jan 23, 2025 (BSS) - The Energy and Mineral Resources Division has disconnected illegal gas connections and distribution lines during a drive conducted in East Sadarpur, Tongabari, and Baro Ashulia in Savar.

A team of the division on Wednesday removed 1,500 meters of gas lines, including approximately 2.5 kilometers of gas distribution lines and 500 illegal residential gas burner connections. 

The team also imposed fines, collecting Taka 11,000 in cash from two residential gas subscribers and a financial penalty of Taka 1 lakh from the Eco Laundry Factory.
