Nutrition awareness, learning fair held in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Feb 20, 2025 (BSS) - A daylong Nutrition Awareness and Learning Fair-2025 was held on the premises of Fulchhari Upazila Parishad in the district today amid much enthusiasm to the concerned. 

In cooperation with Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), SKS Foundation, a voluntary organization of the district, arranged the fair under Rural Microenterprise Transformation Project (RMTP) funded by Embassy of Denmark. 

In this regard, an inaugural ceremony was also held on the Parishad premises this morning with Director (Finance) of the foundation Khokon Kumar Kundu in the chair.
 
UNO Jagatbandhu Mondal attended the function as the chief guest. 

The function was also addressed, among others, by upazila livestock officer Dr. Jahirul Islam, upazila agriculture officer Mintu Miah, upazila fisheries officer Akhi Sarker, upazila social services officer Monowar Hossain and coordinator (Field operation) of SKS Foundation Baharam Khan.

Earlier, manager of RMTP-Fish project Kopil Kumar Paul delivered his speech elaborately highlighting the objective and necessity of the fair. 

UNO Jagatbandhu Mondal in his speeches underscored the need for creating much awareness about nutrition among the people particularly the housewives of the upazila to build healthy nation.

He also thanked the concerned for arranging the fair in a bid to create awareness among the people about nutrition to attain the cherished goals of the project. 

After inauguration, the UNO accompanying the invited persons visited the stalls and talked to the owners of the stalls about nutrition. 

A large number of housewives of project command area, officials and activists of the organization attended the programs held on the occasion of the fair.
