CHATTOGRAM, April 20, 2025 (BSS) - A Chattogram court today sentenced life 
term imprisonment to two drug traders for trading drugs in 2021.

The court of Chattogram Dewlia Affair Adalat Judge Md Jahangir Hossain 
awarded the judgement to the drug trader truck driver Abul Hossain and his 
helper Moinuddin. 

The court also awarded Taka five thousand as fine each, in default, they will 
have to suffer more six months imprisonment.

According to the prosecution story is in brief that acting on a tip-off a 
team of RAB detained Abul Hossain and Moinuddin with 38,555 pieces Yaba 
tablets from their truck in Afzal Nagar area under Satkhania upazila of the 
district on April 16 in 2021.

The then RAB filed a case with Satkhania Thana against the alleged drug 
traders on that day in 2021.  

Police submitted the charge sheet before the court on March 4, in 2023 
against three persons while the court framed charges on July 12, 2023. 

The court announced the verdict in presence of the convicted persons after 
examining a total of six prosecution witnesses out of 11. 

The court acquitted another person for not proving the allegation brought 
against him.
