COX’S BAZAR, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus joined the stakeholders' dialogue on the Rohingya crisis in the district town this morning.

He will formally inaugurate the event.

The three-day international conference titled “Stakeholders' Dialogue: Takeaways to the High-Level Conference on Rohingya Situation” began on Sunday at the Hotel Baywatch in the coastal district that hosts over a million Rohingyas.

The dialogue brings together a wide spectrum of participants, including diplomats, international experts, Rohingya community representatives, global organizations and academics from both home and abroad.

Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam told BSS that this dialogue has been organized as a preparatory step for the September meeting.

“Its special significance lies in the direct participation of Rohingyas, where they are sharing their hopes, frustrations, and future expectations. These voices and discussions will be reflected at the high-level Rohingya conference scheduled to be held in New York on September 30,” he said.

The ongoing Cox’s Bazar dialogue highlights several critical issues, including ensuring humanitarian assistance, keeping the Rohingya crisis visible on the global stage, and defining a path for safe, voluntary, and dignified repatriation of the Rohingyas.

The three-day event will end tomorrow following the participants’ visit to Rohingya camps to gain firsthand insights into the challenges faced by the forcibly displaced community on the ground.

Bangladesh Television will broadcast the event live from 11am.
