GAIBANDHA, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - The Livestock Services Week and Exhibition-2025 has started at Fulchhari upazila town in the district as elsewhere in the country today. 

This year's theme of the week is "Domestic breeds, modern technology, animal resources will improve". 

Marking the week, Upazila Livestock Office and veterinary hospital has arranged the elaborate programmes in cooperation with Livestock and Dairy Development Project under the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry. 

In the morning, around 11 am, a discussion meeting and prize distribution function was also held on the hospital premises with Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Jahirul Islam in the chair. 

UNO Jagatbandhu Mondal addressed the function as the chief guest. Upazila agriculture officer Mintu Miah, officer in charge of Fulchhari Police Station Mazharul Islam addressed the function among others. 

The speakers in their speeches underscored the need to further develop the livestock sector to meet the local demand for protein.

In this context, they emphasized creating more entrepreneurs in the upazila to turn livestock farming into a social movement to make the farming popular among the youths, they also said. 

Upazila livestock officer Dr. Jahirul Islam said over 20 stalls had been set up in the exhibition to display the varieties of livestock of the upazila to the visitors.
