THAKURGAON, March 19, 2025 (BSS) - A road accident on Thakurgaon-Baliadangi highway here in the district resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left nine others, including a child, injured on Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Arfan, 23, son of Amirul, from Madhupur village in Baliadangi upazila, and Joyonto Roy, 29, son of Deena Ram, from Chairman Para in the same upazila.
According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidur Rahman of Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station, the incident occurred around 8:00pm when a three-wheeler collided with a stationary truck at Lakhipur-Debadangi on the Thakurgaon-Baliadangi highway.
Joyonto Roy, a passenger in the three-wheeler, died at the scene of the accident.
A total of ten people were injured in the crash and rushed to Thakurgaon Adhunik Sadar Hospital. Arfan succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital. Doctors referred three of the critically injured, including a child, to Rangpur Hospital for further care.
