THAKURGAON, March 19, 2025 (BSS) - Two persons were killed and nine others injured in a road accident at Lakhipur-Debadangi on the Thakurgaon-Baliadangi highway of Sadar upazila in the district.

Police identified the deceased as Arfan, 23, son of Amirul, from Madhupur village in Baliadangi upazila, and Joyonto Roy, 29, son of Deena Ram, from Chairman Para in the same upazila.

The accident occurred around 8:00pm on Tuesday in the area as a three-wheeler human hauler rammed into a stationary truck, said Shahidur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station.

The accident killed human hauler passenger Roy on the spot and left 10 others injured with four in critical condition, he said. 

The injured were whisked off to Thakurgaon Adhunik Sadar Hospital as Arfan succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment there. 

Three other critical injured patients, including a child, were sent to Rangpur Hospital for enhanced treatment.
