SHERPUR, April 8, 2025 (BSS) - High yielding variety jute seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed among more than 100 farmers in Sadar upazila here today.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud Bhuiyan distributed the seeds and fertilizers as the chief guest at a function at the Upazila Parishad (UP) hall room this morning.

District Jute Development Officer Md. Ayub Ali, Additional Agriculture Officer of Sadar Agriculture Department Riyasat Sadat Hossain, Deputy Assistant Jute Development Officer Zakia Jannat, former secretary of the district Jamaat Maulana Abdul Baten and Charsherpur Union Parishad Chairman Selim Reza were present, among others.

"Free jute seeds and fertilizers will be distributed among 2,600 selected jute farmers of Sadar upazila," the UNO said.

Each of the farmers got one kilogram of high yielding variety jute seeds, six-kg of urea and six-kg of Muriate of Potash (MOP) fertilizer.
