Fire guts 3 commercial establishments, 13 houses in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, April 9, 2025 (BSS) - At least three commercial establishments and 13 dwelling houses were gutted at Hadi Fakir Hat Bazar of Wahedpur village under Mirsarai upazila of the district early today. 

Fire service sources said the fire was originated from an electric short circuit from a shop in the area at around 3 am and quickly engulfed the surrounding houses. 

Three fire fighting units from Mirsarai and Sitakunda upazilas rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control at around 4 am.  

Valuables worth about TK 50 lakh were gutted in the fire, Jahangir Alam, owner of a commercial establishment claimed.

 However, none was injured in the fire, he added.
