Youth held with 7,000 Yaba tablets in Savar

SAVAR, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested a youth with 7,000 pieces of Yaba tablets worth about Tk 21 lakh from the Amarpur area under Savar municipality.

The arrestee has been identified as Rabiul Islam, 20, son of late Amzahar Mondal of Porabari Choto Omorpur area under Savar municipality.

A team from Savar Model Police Station, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid at the residence of the notorious drug dealer Rustam Ali on Saturday night and arrested Rabiul, according to a press release issued today.

However, Rustam managed to flee the scene, abandoning a bag containing Yaba tablets.

A case has been filed with Savar Model Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
