FENI, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 100 families severely affected by devastating floods here in the district received Tk 20 lakhs today.

Each family was given Tk 20,000 during a cheque distribution ceremony organized by the UNICEF at the Feni Deputy Commissioner's office.

Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam Prodhan handed over the cheques as chief guest, while Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Ismail Hossain presided over the event.

The recipients included 40 families from Sadar upazila, 20 from Fulgazi, 15 from Parshuram, and 25 from Chhagalnaiya.

Golam Mohammad Baten, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department, Sultana Nasrin Kanta, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Tania Bhuiyan, Fulgazi Upazila Nirbahi Officer, District Relief Officer Mahbub Alam and Madhuri Banerjee, Chief of UNICEF's Chattogram Field Office were present at the programme.
