NARSINGDI, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - A mother was allegedly killed by her drug-
addicted son at Bailabo village under Shibpur upazila of the district last
night.

The deceased was Shamsunnahar, 70, wife of late former school teacher Nurul
Haque, a resident of Bailabo village under Chakradhya union of the upazila.

Police recovered the body from their house this morning and sent it to
Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue.

Md Afzal Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibpur Police Station, confirmed
the matter and said police arrested the accused son Jaber Hossain, 28.

Police and locals said Jaber is a drug abuser. He used to misbehave with his
mother repeatedly for money.
