PATUAKHALI, May 10, 2025 (BSS) - A tourist died while taking a bath in Kuakata sea beach in Patuakhali district today.

The incident occurred around 11:00 AM on the west side of Zero Point of the beach.

The deceased was identified as Rajesh Kumar Pal, 40, son of Sharot Kumar Pal from Puthia area of Rajshahi district.

Tourist Police Kuakata Zone In-Charge Shakhawat Hossain confirmed the matter. 

According to police and local sources, Rajesh, along with his family and three friends had come to visit Kuakata and checked into Hotel Sagar Nibash. Around 10:00 in the morning, they went down to bathe in the sea.

Later, Rajesh was swept further into the sea by strong waves and drowned. Upon hearing screams of his relatives, locals rushed to the spot.

Locals rescued and took him to Kuakata Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
